How GCWUF grades your courses

GCWUF grades A from 80%, B from 65%, C from 50% and D from 40%, and each mark inside a grade moves your quality points. In a 3-credit course 38 marks out of 60 earns 8.67 quality points and 39 marks earns 9.

How is GPA calculated at GCWUF?

Each course earns quality points from your marks and its credits, and your GPA comes from the quality points of all your courses together. Enter your marks above and the calculator does the working on the quality point table.

What CGPA is required for a BS degree at GCWUF?

A CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00. A student with a CGPA from 1.75 to below 2.50 after all coursework may repeat, once, the courses with the lowest grades to reach 2.50.

What happens if my CGPA is low after the first year?

Below 1.75 at the end of the first academic year (two consecutive semesters) admission is cancelled, though a student may seek fresh admission. From the 3rd semester you need a GPA of 1.0 and a CGPA of 2.0 each semester.

How many marks is one credit at GCWUF?

One credit carries 20 marks, so a 4-credit course is out of 80. A thesis, project or internship of 6 credit hours carries 120 marks.

What percentage is each grade at GCWUF?

A 80–100% (Excellent), B 65–79.99% (Good), C 50–64.99% (Satisfactory), D 40–49.99% (Poor) and F below 40% (Fail).

Can I improve a D grade?

Yes, D grades from earlier semesters can be improved once during the course of study. A course can be repeated at most twice (three enrolments in all).

At least 3.80 after the 6th semester to opt for research and a thesis instead of two optional courses.

What is the attendance requirement?

75% in theory and practical classes, separately in each course, to sit the final exam.
